Ghaati Movie Review
Ghaati is a 2025 Telugu action crime drama film directed by Krish Jagarlamudi. It was produced by Yeduguru Rajeev Reddy and Saibabu Jagarlamudi, under First Frame Entertainments, and presented by UV Creations. It stars Anushka Shetty in the lead role, alongside Vikram Prabhu, Chaitanya Rao Madadi, and Jagapathi Babu.
Story
The story is about the ghaati tribes who live on the eastern ghaats. A couple who are from the ghaati tribes try to bring about a change which will better the tribes’ lives.
Review
The movie has a decent plot about the Ghaati’s and a routine setup of villains and oppressors. You can tell that the Director Krish has done extensive research about Ghaati culture and marijuana being deeply involved in their lives. You can see the elements used in this movie like the healing and other religious ceremonies using ganja, the birthing of children where the women are tied upright to a pole, these elements while they give us a sense of this world, are never used to a level where we feel their power. The movie fails in giving us that highs even though we see many scenes with that potential.
Anushka can be seen in her powerful woman character that we love her for in few scenes but many moments where we could have used that anger in her face or a more powerful body language, we are left wondering where that powerful performance has gone. The music is okay, some scenes with some loud screaming is very painful to sit through.
Conclusion
The movie decent and even with all it’s pitfalls, it will be a treat for all the Anushka Shetty fans.
Verdict
A one time watchable movie at the theatres.
