Kuberaa is a 2025 Indian crime drama film directed by Sekhar Kammula, who co-wrote the screenplay with Chaithanya Pingali. Produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP and Amigos Creations, it was shot simultaneously in the Telugu and Tamil languages. The film stars Nagarjuna, Dhanush, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh and Dalip Tahil.
Story
Deepak, a disgraced CBI Officer, starts to work for India’s richest businessman, Neeraj and helps him whitewash his money. Deepak uses 4 beggars as benamis for this whitewashing counting on their lack of any education and knowledge. Deva is one of the beggars tracked down for this purpose. As the transactions are being processed, Deva gets to know Neeraj’s final plan involves getting rid of the beggars for good, so he escapes. The ensuing drama revolves around how Deva gets away from these powerful forces.
Review
Kuberaa is an engaging film from it’s first minute, even with it’s lengthy runtime of over 3 hours.
The story is engaging and the tension is at an appropriate amount with some lighthearted moments sprinkled in.
The performances are great across the board, Dhanush killed it as beggar (away from his recent mass roles), Nagarjuna showing his true acting chops as complex ex-CBI officer and Rashmika shining in her scenes. Jim Sarbh plays an extremely affluent business man effortlessly.
The music by Devi Sri Prasad is a huge plus for this movie, it gives a mythical effect to the entire story and raises that emotions just at the right moment.
The cinematography by Niketh Bommireddy is gorgeous.
The editing by Karthika Srinivas is good for the most part but the emotional scene of a important character death could’ve been done better.
Conclusion
Kuberaa is good movie with it’s thrilling story telling in a sea of mass action dramas. It is a worthy film to watch in the theatres.
