Overview

A casual conversation about a long-forgotten love letter leads an elderly couple down memory lane, gently rekindling the spark of their youthful romance. Balachandar, a soft-spoken artist, lives with his wife Sushma-a spirited homemaker who pretends to read the newspaper every day, interpreting headlines through the pictures alone. Though illiterate, she maintains the act to uphold her image as an educated woman in front of nosy neighbors. One day, Balachandar's irritation over her imaginative news readings sparks a gentle argument, which unexpectedly leads to a conversation about a love letter Sushma once received in her youth. Jealous and stirred by the memory, Balachandar decides to write her a love letter of his own-but there's one problem: he can't read or write. How he overcomes this to express his love becomes the emotional core of this tender, humorous, and poetic tale.
