There are many surprises in the year 2018. The most expected movies turned as duds at the box office.The most unexpected movies proved their worth at the box office. There were hiccups for few star heroes as well directors. This year has elevated the position of actor Vijay Devarakonda.

Tollywood has seen many surprises in the year 2018.
209 movies were released between 1st January 2018 till 31st December 2018 out of which 48 dubbed movies have hit the screens.
The biggest hits were Rangasthalam,Bharath Ane Nenu,Mahanati, Geetha Govindam,Aravinda Sametha and RX 100.
Ram Charan bagged a big hit in his career with the movie ‘Rangasthalam’.it is also a big hit for director Sukumar.

Ram Charan Starrer movie ‘Rangasthalam’ directed by Sukumara is placed in 7th Position in Indian Movie Data Base(IMDB) list of top 10 Indian movies released in 2018.
The movie was a block buster.It collected Rs.95.51 crores(approx) as its final share for screening in both Telugu speaking states.

Mahesh Babu bounced back to his top position in Tollywood with ‘Bharath Ane Nenu’. For the director Koratala Siva,This movie is the fourth consecutive blockbuster. His earlier blockbusters are ‘Mirchi'(2013),Srimanthudu'(2015) and Janatha Garage(2017).

Mahanati Movie is in Top 10 of IMDB List
‘Mahanati’ a biopic movie on Tollywood actress Savitri is placed in 4th Position in Indian Movie Data Base(IMDB) list of top 10 Indian movies released in 2018.
This is a great achievement and a big tribute to the Telugu actress Kalabhinethri Savitri. Actress Keerthy Suresh essayed the role of Savitri and her performance has won audience appreciation from all corners.
The film ‘Mahanati’ has been selected in Indian Panorama films for the 49th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2018.
‘Mahanati’ is the only one selected as ‘mainstream films’ by an internal committee of the Directorate of Film Festivals (DFF).
A low budgeted movie ‘RX100’ with Karthikeya as hero directed by Ajay Bhoopathi has surprised all movie pundits with its collections.It was a big block buster in small movie category.

Balakrishna had a Sankranthi release with the movie ‘Jai Simha’.This was just an above average movie.
Anushka Shetty starrer movie Bhagmathi had decent collections.
Nandamuri Kalyan Ram had 2 releases in 2018. They are MLA and Naa Nuvve. Both movies failed at the box-office.
Mass Maha Raja Raviteja came with 3 movies ‘Touch Chesi Choodu’, ‘Nela Ticket’ and ‘Amar Akbar Antony’. These three are not received well by the Telugu audience.
Vijay Devarakonda had 5 releases this year. they are…1.Ye Manthram Vesave 2.Mahanati 3. Geetha Govindam 4.NOTA 5.Taxiwala.Of these 5 Geetha govindam and Mahanati turned as block busters. Taxiwala had a decent run.NOTA failed to impress.But Vijay Devarakonda excelled with his acting skills in all these 5 movies.
Varun Tej was impressive with ‘Tholi Prema’ which had decent collections at the box office.Now his latest release ‘Anthariksham’ though rated as an average movie,Varun Tej was impressive as an astronaught
Sudheer Babu starrer movie ‘Sammohanam’ is impressive with an average run. This movie has collected Rs.5.00 Crores as share from both Telugu states. His other 2 movies ‘Nannu Dochukunduvate’ and ‘Veer Bhoga Vaantha Ryalu’ failed at the box office.
Naga Chaitanya had 2 movie releases in 2018.He was impressive with his action.but Savayasachi movie failed at the bthe box office and his other movie release ‘Sailaja Reddy Alludu’ had a decent run.
Nitin failed to attract the box office with his movies ‘Chal Mohan Ranga’ and ‘Srinivasa Kalyanam’.
Chalo,Kanam,Ammammaarillu,Narthanasala are the 4 movies released in 2018 with Naga Shaurya as hero. Only ‘Chalo’ movie had decent collections.
Sai Dharam Tej’s movies ‘Intelligent’ and ‘Tej I Love You’ were released with high hopes but failed at the box office.

of the 48 Dubbed movies only 4 movies could succeed at the box office.
Surprisingly Pawan Kalyan’s movie ‘Agnyathavasi’ directed by Trivikram Srinivas failed to impress.
There were many expectations on Allu Arjun’s movie ‘Naa Peru Surya’.It failed at the box-office.
The duo Nagarjuna and Ram Gopal Varma who impressed together with their earlier movies ‘Siva'(1989) and ‘Govinda Govinda'(1993) failed with their recent release ‘Officer’.It was a big flop.
Nani released his movie ‘AWE’ as producer.It was a well shot movie but failed at the box office. Nani’ movie ‘Krishnarjuna Yuddham with Nani playing dual role also failed to attract the Telugu movie watchers.
He came with the movie ‘Devadas’ with Akkineni Nagarjuna.The movie failed at boxoffice.
Vishal could impress the Telugu film goers with his movie ‘Abhimanyudu’.This had decent collection compared to Vishal Previous Telugu releases. Failed to impress with the movie ‘Pandem Kodi 2’.
Sharwanand came with the movie ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’ but failed to impress.
