Singer Vani Jayaram Passes Away
Popular singer Vani Jayaram passed away today, the 4th February 2023 in her residence in Chennai. She was 77.

just few days back she got the news about the Central Government announcing Padma Bhushan award for her.
Vani Jayaram born on 30th November 1945 at Vellore Town in Tamil Nadu, in a family of musicians.
She learnt Carnatic music under the guidance of Kadalur Srinivasa Iyengar, T. R. Balasubramanian and R. S. Mani. Her Hindustani classical music guru was Ustad Abdul Rahman Khan.
Vani Jayaram first popular song as a playback singer was from the Hindi Film ‘Guddi'(1971) and the music director was Vasanth Desai. She recorded three songs for Guddi (her first song-Bolore pappi hara), after her marriage to Jayaram she settled in Mumbai, to continue as a play back singer.
In the year 1974, she shifted over to Chennai and became a popular playback singer in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema.
Telugu film industry is lucky to have her, she sung some of the best songs in Telugu especially in Viswanath movies, and most of them are super hits and very memorable ones. She is one of the best singers of Indian Cinema.
The Government of India has announced Padma Bhushan,the third highest civilian award for Vani Jayaram on the eve of Republic Day 2023.
She has recorded more than 8,000 songs in 14 different languages
