Aa Okkati Adakku Movie Review

Movie Information:

Aa Okkati Adakku is a Telugu romantic comedy film directed by Malli Ankam. It is produced by
Rajiv Chilaka and co-produced with Bharath Laxmipati under Chilaka Productions. The film
stars Allari Naresh, Faria Abdullah, Vennela Kishore, Jamie Lever, Harsha Chemudu and
Ariyana Glory in lead roles.

The cinematography was done by Suryaa and edited by Chota K. Prasad.
Music by Gopi Sundar.

Story:
An honest, unmarried government employee, Gana, joins a matrimony platform out of
desperation for a match. Through them he matches up with Siddhi and a few other women who
all don’t work out. But then it is revealed that all the women on this platform are actually fake
and these women are hired to create an illusion of there being potential matches on the
platform. After a few more chance encounters, Siddhi falls for Gana. The rest of the story is
about how Siddhi comes out of this matrimonial scam and how Siddhi and Gana end up
together.

Review:
They say comedy actors make great drama actors. In the case of Allari Naresh, it rings true.
Although this movie is not a drama but a romantic comedy, Naresh really sells the emotional
scenes very well. Faria Abdullah has delivered a decent performance.
The editing is competent for the most part but they really had fun with the cinematography in
this movie. The initial one shot introduction was a good effort. There are cuts when there is
dialogue between 2 characters that was too rapid but other than that, the editing was never a
distraction.

Music for the movie is not iconic but also not anything to complain too much about.
The comedy works with both Vennela Kishore and Viva Harsha. While the setup and punchline
jokes might be getting old with some of the audience, the jokes in this movie didn’t seem too
jarring or ridiculous.

The climax would not survive too much scrutiny with a very filmy court proceeding and
everybody coming in support to the Hero and Heroine’s case, it is all too familiar for the telugu
audience and so can be forgiven.
Verdict:
Overall, it is a fun movie to watch. While the values of the movie might be disagreeable or
hypocritical, with them showing the struggle of an older unmarried man at the same time
denigrating a divorced woman. But as a comedy entertainer, it is a decent flick with good
performances.

So if you are out this weekend to catch a fun movie, you would do just fine with Aa Okkati
Adakku.
